DJ CAZU (he/him/his) is a product of the San Francisco Bay Area, Okinawa, San Diego, and Seattle. Armed with a style built on instinct and adaptability, he has developed a reputation for his profound understanding of what it takes to move a crowd. When he is behind the decks, his personality and aura radiate a mix of creativity, charisma, and confidence that is uniquely his own. Influenced by DJs such as DJ Neil Armstrong, DJ Jazzy Jeff, and Miles Medina, CAZU’s sets seamlessly blend recent releases with timeless classics across eras and genres.
For over ten years he has electrified dance floors for events and parties, notably SacAnime, PAUZ Presents 'Club K-POP' in San Francisco, Seattle, Anaheim, Sacramento & Phoenix, and 'Sorry 4 Party Rocking' in San Francisco, venues such as the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, Temple San Francisco, DNA Lounge, and events in Hawaii, NYC, Chicago, LA, Las Vegas, and Portland, and along with support slots for DJ Soda and DJ Habibeats. In addition, he brings together K-pop dance enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels by curating and hosting the fan-favorite Random Play Dance, which can be viewed on his YouTube channel. His craft is deeply rooted in a dedication to creating shared spaces that cultivate and celebrate community through music and dance.
As a scholar and educator, he is a contributing writer to the education text, HipHopEd: The Compilation on Hip-Hop Education: Volume 2: Hip-Hop as Praxis & Social Justice. Through his work in higher education for the past 15+ years, he has incorporated Hip-Hop into his work through conducting various workshops, events, and conferences that develop the lens of social identity, and connect students to social action, through the elements of Hip-Hop.
